I am a consultant and author on cooperatives and international development.

I was the Director General of the International Cooperative Alliance between April 2018 and February 2023. Prior to that, I was Secretary General of CICOPA, the global organisation of industrial, service and artisans’ cooperatives (2002-2018) and of its European organisation CECOP (2005-2018). Before that, I worked on cooperative development projects in China, India, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

I am a strong believer in cooperativism and in the potential of the cooperative movement to solving a substantial part of the critical problems of today’s world
